The 16th annual Canal Run for the Troops will be held on Saturday October 5th. at the Buzzards Bay Recreation Area.

5K and 10K with runners and walkers welcome. Starting time will be 10am with Registration open at 8:30. $25.00 for advance registration and $30.00 registration for Race Day Registration. This year we are adding a virtual race so anyone and everyone can run to support our troops no matter where you live

This is a great family event with Prizes, Entertainment and Race T-Shirts for the first 100 people to pre-register.

The funds raised at the Canal Run will be used to continue sending care packages to our deployed troops and provide a Christmas Party and gifts "Operation Santa" for our military families at Fort Belvoir's Wounded Warrior Unit. Over 45,000 care packages have been sent to our troops. You can help by getting friends/family members to sponsor your run/walk. Put together a team and participate in honor of someone deployed, a veteran, wounded warrior or a Gold Star Hero. Sponsor forms are available upon request.

Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization started in 2005 by 12 year old Dylan DeSilva. Dylan wanted to find a way to honor our troops for their service, dedication and sacrifices to our country. With the help of his family and friends he sends care packages to our Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan on a weekly basis. Over 43,000 care packages have been sent to our deployed troops.

We also have programs to support our veterans, military families and provide support for the Care Givers of our wounded warriors. We also send canine care packages to our military dogs.

If you would like to donate items for the care packages to our troops please click on the links in the left column to see our list of suggested items and drop off locations listed. We do accept monetary donations to cover the cost of shipping. You may also sponsor a complete care package for our Troops at the cost of $60.00. If you know of a military member who would like to receive a care package please provide us their name and mailing address.
