Our Troops now serving, our Gold and Blue Star families and our Veterans are all now better served through your support; whether it be by running in this event, donating or volunteering, a smile, a hug or a handshake you've all made a difference in their lives. This event began with a carefully handled care package from one young teen (Dylan DeSilva) sent to another who was serving in a remote valley in Afghanistan (my son). I was struck by Dylan's compassion at a time when my family and I were not quite sure if anyone was paying attention, or cared.

After meeting and talking with Dylan and his mom I began to realize the magnitude of young Dylan's reach and what it cost just for shipping alone to do what he does.
So to 'pay it forward' and try to offset Dylan's yearly shipping costs we started this race. The package Dylan sent to my son was his 2000th, he has now sent over 18,307....so our cause grows.

One person CAN make a difference, as Dylan has proven with that one care package!
